Although this photo was taken about a week ago, just wanted everyone to have awareness of my respect for mom's usual breakfast "enhancements" these days (outcome of our visit with the holistic doctor)...needless to say, she was only slightly amused by the ritualistic handoff I was trying to portray. So proud of her for being tough and powering through!

Dear Katie,
ReplyDeleteThank you for opening a window and allowing us a peek into your beautiful and poignant moments with mom. I still remember the first time I met her - she had come to our apartment in Kendall with her infectious smile to welcome us into the community and her close circle of friends. You were only 8 years old then. Through the years, she was always spearheading my baby showers, baptisms, and what-have-yous. She held my hand and lent me her "big ears" when things slid south. I am so grateful for her friendship! You and your family are always in our thoughts and prayers and I hope that the left path is kinder and gentler to your mom, to you, and your loved ones, as well. You are one amazing daughter, Katie, but then again, no surprises here. After all, the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree! Sending rainbows of positive energy all the way from NorCal! Auntie Lani
I took this picture! I also see Ray's infamous attempt at biscuits and gravy :-)
